I am thrilled to find both time and resources for creating my own work after teaching high school ceramics for many years. I especially enjoy combining my interest in botanical drawing with my clay work to produce pierced, carved, and sgraffito designs using plant motifs. I have begun altering forms more often to add more movement to my work. My focus on functional pieces is a reflection of the pleasure obtained from the frequent contact with pieces that comes with everyday usage. While I produce most of my work using the potter’s wheel, I am also drawn to handbuilding.
I split my time between working at our new home in Darien, IL, our winter place in Estero, Florida and the ClaySpace studio in Lisle, IL. Being able to work alongside the other 54 artists at ClaySpace is truly inspirational!
My work is available at a number of art fairs (check the Shows web page), at the ClaySpace Gallery and in the LaGrange Art League Gallery. Feel free to contact me if you have seen something at one of my shows or on this website that speaks to you!
